24 hour call out cover

We offer 24-hour emergency and non emergency call out cover every day of the year. If attendance is required for a malfunctioning lift, call outs are normally responded to within 4 hours.

To reduce the downtime of the lift, we carry a wide range of spare parts and have ready access to equipment for most makes and types of lifts.


Maintenance

From basic lubrication to comprehensive cover, we can tailor design a maintenance contract to suit most customers requirements.

Whether it is short term cover or a long term partnership, we ensure that your lift receives the necessary attention required for safe, reliable and efficient use. From a single lift to multi lift contracts, our procedures ensure that the performance and quality remain at the highest level.

Passenger movement, however, is not our sole trade. We also maintain heavy and light duty goods lifts, kitchen/service lifts, scissor lifts and much more.

Our detailed service reports and follow up reports enable clients to assess the need for remedial action in good time ensuring that preventive maintenance is indeed preventive, so minimising the cost and inconvenience to the clients and the lift users.

Our highly trained and very competent engineers have worked across most types of lift installations, giving them the special skills needed to maintain equipment from most types or manufactures products - whether they were installed 40 years ago or 40 days ago.

A lift is made up of many moving mechanical and electrical parts with complex electronic controls It is inevitable that in its lifetime a lift will require repair of some kind or other whether through wear and tear, malfunction of components, miss use/abuse or for any other reason. We aim to offer the best solution to the problem and get the lift up and running as quick as possible with the least disruption to the end user at the best value.  


refurbishment

Like all things in life, lift equipment eventually comes to the end of its useful life. There comes a time when repairs are no longer cost effective and a more major approach is required to get optimum performance from the lift. 

When this happens, we will offer you the right solution which often does not mean the complete replacement of the lift. A bespoke and well thought out refurbishment package will not only save money for the client but also save on major builders works and disruption. 


Site Safety Surveys and condition reports

The majority of lifts in the UK are between 20 and 40 years old. This is most significant when compared with technological advancements over such a time span and raised personal expectations of safety levels. In addition to this is the need to provide for growing life expectancy and an increasing elderly population. 

From an owner/manager viewpoint, you no doubt plan for your future needs and financial commitments. Where your lift installation is concerned, such plans will have regard for lift expectancy and improvements to service as well as taking into account legislative requirements.

You will be conscious of your responsibility for control of the building, which impose a duty of care to ensure the premises are safe and free from risks to health, so far as reasonably practicable.

Principle Lifts, as contractors to you, also have duties as employers to ensure that those within our employment are not exposed to health and safety risks from their business activities. This is something that cannot always be fulfilled in isolation when working on equipment belonging to others. In this regard, your help and co-operation is essential.

Our customers under contract receive, as part of our service to them, regular site safety survey reports and equipment condition reports which will assist in fulfilling our mutual obligations and where the safety and comfort of lift passengers is paramount. At the same time, taking action on the reports will provide a better quality of service from your installation as well as extending the life of the equipment.

We also offer this  service to non contract customers at very reasonable rates.
